EBOYI: Police operatives in Ebonyi State have arrested a man, Ovuta Chigozie, in possession of two human skulls and three locally made guns.
Chigozie, a native of Okoffia in Ezza South Local Government Area, reportedly confessed that the skulls were handed to him for use in preparing a spiritual concoction.
The Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, adding that efforts were underway to track down others connected to the case.
“During interrogation, the suspect admitted to receiving the human skulls for ritual purposes. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend those involved,” Ukandu stated.
In a separate operation, the police uncovered a criminal syndicate specializing in altering the colors of stolen tricycles from neighboring states.
“While tracking a stolen tricycle, operatives arrested Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba. Three stolen tricycles were recovered from them, and they confessed to receiving the vehicles for illegal modifications,” Ukandu added.
The police assured that all suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
