The Senate on Wednesday confirmed five INEC Resident Electoral Commissioners nominated by President Bola Tinubu.
Those confirmed are:
- Umar Garba (Kano)
- Sa’ad Idris (Bauchi)
- Chukwuemeka Ibeziako (Anambra)
- Umar Mukhtar (Borno)
- Johnson Sinikiem (Bayelsa)
Also, President Tinubu submitted a N1.78tn 2025 budget for the Federal Capital Territory, seeking swift approval to support key infrastructure projects.
Though Senator Abdul Ningi objected to the rushed process, the Senate invoked Order 78 to advance the bill to second reading.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele said the budget allocates N150.3bn for personnel, N343.7bn for overheads, and N1.29tn for capital projects.
