The Federal Government is urging the Dangote Group and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to find a peaceful solution to their ongoing dispute. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, emphasized the importance of a swift resolution, noting that the stability of the country’s economy hinges on the oil and gas sector.
Speaking at a conciliation meeting, Minister Dingyadi appealed to both parties to be “accommodating” and “accommodate each other’s views” to reach an agreement. “The oil industry is not a sector that we will play with,” he stated, highlighting its critical role in the nation’s economy.
