INEC Gears Up for Anambra Governorship Poll

ABUJA – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held a critical strategic session yesterday, with Acting Chairman Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu presiding over the weekly meeting at the Commission’s headquarters.

The central focus of the session was an intensive review of the Commission’s readiness for the crucial upcoming Anambra State Governorship Election.

Beyond the immediate preparations for the Anambra poll, the Commission also utilized the meeting to initiate forward-planning for a number of forthcoming electoral exercises.

This includes:

• The 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.
• The Governorship Elections slated for Osun and Ekiti States.

The meeting underscores the Commission’s commitment to ensuring timely, seamless, and efficient conduct of elections, not just for the immediate INEC Anambra Governorship Election, but also for future pivotal polls across the country.
