The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Bayelsa State has thrown its weight behind the administration of Governor Douye Diri, citing unprecedented strides in infrastructure, health, power, and security.
Chairman of IPAC in the state, Mr. Simeon Imomotimi, said the decision to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government was borne out of the governor’s commitment to peace and sustainable development.
Speaking at a press conference in Yenagoa, he praised Diri’s infrastructural projects, including the Nembe–Brass, Ekeremor–Agge, and Oporoma–Angiama–Ukubie roads, which he said had opened up riverine communities previously cut off from the mainland.
Imomotimi also pointed to the 60-megawatt gas turbine expected to boost power supply in Yenagoa and nearby towns, as well as the governor’s efforts to clear outstanding pensions and gratuities.
He described Diri’s performance as “overwhelmingly unmatched” by any of his predecessors.
On healthcare, the IPAC leader highlighted the establishment of primary health centres in every ward and referral hospitals across the local government areas.
He also lauded the administration’s security master plan, which he said has drastically reduced crime across the state.
“Without mincing words, Governor Diri stands tall among all who have governed this state,” Imomotimi said.
He noted that the governor has succeeded in prioritising people’s welfare through targeted investments in health, education, and rural development.
Imomotimi added that IPAC would continue to collaborate with the government to sustain the gains made and ensure greater dividends of democracy for Bayelsans.
He urged residents to support the administration’s policies for the collective good of the state.
