Okpare Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area was earlier today thrown into desary as men of the Nigerian Army allegedly invaded the community early hours of the morning.
It was gathered that the invasion of Okpare Olomu was in connection to the annual conference of the community, which a faction of the community leadership is against.
The Nigerian Army came in a large numbers of Hilux trucks and allegedly shot sporadically bringing the community and it’s market to disarray.
It was alleged that the military men were on the invitation of 5 Elders in the Community through the effort of two, yet to be identified prominent govt appointees to ensure that the yearly conference did not hold so that the 5 Elders can continue with the looting of the community ‘s meagre resources.
The people of Okpare Olomu lamented that there was no need for the military to invade as the case is a civil matter.
