Kebbi Deputy Speaker Regains Freedom After Abduction — Police

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the release of the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Muhammad Sama’ila Bagudo, who was abducted by gunmen on October 31, 2025.

According to the command, Bagudo regained his freedom on Thursday and has since been reunited with his family after receiving medical attention at a facility in the state.

In a statement, the command commended the courage and resilience of the combined security team that participated in the search and rescue operation.

“The police also appreciate the good people of Kebbi State who provided vital and accurate information that ensured the safe return of the Deputy Speaker,” it said.

The command reiterated its commitment to sustaining the fight against banditry and kidnapping across the state and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement to security agencies.
