KIDNAPPING:Delta Women Go Naked in Abraka, accuse DPO of….

Residents of Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, were taken by surprise on Monday as elderly women and young girls staged a dramatic protest against the unrelenting wave of kidnappings in the community.

The protesters, some of whom stripped naked, blocked the busy Abraka junction, causing a gridlock that left commuters stranded for hours. Chanting and marching across major streets, they carried placards with messages such as “End Kidnapping in Abraka,” “Enough is Enough,” “DPO Must Go,” and “Hardship Is Unbearable.”

Speaking during the protest, Madam Rose Agbajor expressed the community’s frustration, lamenting the insecurity that has gripped the area.

“We are tired of living in constant fear. Every day, there is a new case of kidnapping or an attack by gunmen. Our children are fleeing, and Abraka is no longer safe for us,” she said.

The women accused the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Abraka Police Station, SP Fabian Ayameh, of failing to address the security challenges.
