Former Governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing developments in the state as “outstanding and transformative.”
Kwankwaso spoke after hosting Governor Yusuf and a delegation from the Kano State Government at his Abuja residence on Monday night.
The visit centred on the presentation of the Distinguished Award for Visionary Leadership and Public Service Sector Reform, recently conferred on the governor at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS).
Kwankwaso said he was delighted to receive the governor and commended him for the national recognition, noting that the award mirrored the reforms being implemented across the state.
“Last night, I was pleased to welcome the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, at my Abuja residence,” he said.
He described the award as well-deserved, adding that it validated the direction of governance and service delivery under Yusuf’s administration.
“I congratulate Governor Abba on this remarkable achievement, and I am deeply proud of the outstanding direction and transformative progress Kano State is making under his leadership,” he added.
Kwankwaso said the reforms unfolding in Kano were a source of pride for the Kwankwasiyya movement and reflective of the administration’s commitment to development.
Governor Yusuf, in recent months, has been praised for ongoing transformations in key sectors such as education, healthcare and infrastructure.
These interventions, according to observers, contributed to his selection for the NEAPS award, which was presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The meeting between the two leaders is seen within political circles as a reaffirmation of the strong bond within the Kwankwasiyya structure and continued support for the governor’s policies.
