MOSIEND Defends Olu of Warri, PINL Against Slanderous Attacks,Warns Detractors.

The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has issued a strong warning to those spreading falsehoods and defamatory statements against the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, and Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL).

In a statement signed by its Vice President, High Chief Thompson Fuoye Robert, MOSIEND described the recent wave of unfounded allegations targeting the monarch and PINL as disgraceful and retrogressive.

The group hailed PINL as a model surveillance company committed to pipeline security, transparency, and community engagement. It noted that the company holds monthly meetings with host communities, actively responds to concerns, pays salaries promptly, and has earned the full confidence of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd).

High Chief Fuoye emphasized that the Niger Delta is a shared homeland, stressing that companies led by Niger Deltans have every legal and moral right to operate across the region. He called on critics to focus on building credible ventures instead of attempting to discredit thriving institutions.

“These unwarranted attacks are becoming unbearable,” he said. “We will no longer stand by while a few misinformed individuals try to tarnish the names of respected leaders and institutions.”

He reaffirmed MOSIEND’s unwavering support for the Olu of Warri and PINL, asserting, “Let it be known that the Olu of Warri and the owners of PINL are true sons of the Niger Delta. Their presence in any part of the region should not be politicized or tribalized.”

High Chief Fuoye attributed the recent criticisms of PINL to envy and frustration, warning that pipeline security is a community-driven process and should not be manipulated by outsiders or former agitators with no real stake in the host areas.

“No single person or ethnic group owns the Niger Delta,” he declared. “It belongs to all of us. Any company operating lawfully and respectfully has the right to do business anywhere in the region.”

He concluded with a final caution: “Enough is enough. We will no longer tolerate attempts to divide our people or malign those genuinely contributing to peace and development.”
