The Nigerian Naira recorded significant appreciation against the US dollar today, demonstrating gains in both the parallel and official foreign exchange markets.
In the parallel market, the Naira firmed to N1,545 per dollar, improving from N1,550 recorded last weekend. Simultaneously, within the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the currency strengthened to N1,528.65 per dollar, appreciating by N3.35 from N1,532 per dollar last Friday, according to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data.
This positive movement narrowed the margin between the parallel market and NFEM rates, settling at N16.35 per dollar from N18 last weekend
