Nancy Isime Recounts How Yemi Alade Sheltered Her During Tough Early Days

Popular Nigerian actress and media personality Nancy Isime has opened up about a lesser-known chapter of her life, revealing how award-winning singer Yemi Alade came through for her during her struggling years in Lagos.

Isime, who began hustling at age 17 as an usher and model, shared her emotional story in a heartfelt social media post. She recalled the challenges she faced while working long hours at events, often with no place to return to in far-flung Ikorodu.

“Sometimes I’d sleep on event rugs and chairs, or rely on the kindness of co-workers to house me,” she wrote.

However, one moment stood out. In a leap of faith, she reached out to Yemi Alade then just an acquaintance and asked if she could crash at her off-campus apartment. To her surprise, Yemi welcomed her with open arms and zero hesitation.

“I stayed for weeks and this woman NEVER EVER complained. In fact, the peace was too much I had to leave even when I wasn’t ready to,” Isime shared.

Though she had squatted with others before, Isime said Yemi’s hospitality came with something rare—“attitude, consideration, and peace.”

“Many years later, I still have the softest spot for Yemi and will eternally be grateful. My padi @yemialade, I dey for you for life!” she added.

The story has since sparked an outpouring of praise for Yemi Alade on social media, with fans applauding her quiet generosity and long-standing humility.

Nancy Isime’s tribute is more than just nostalgia—it’s a powerful reminder that simple acts of kindness can shape destinies. In a world of fast fame and fading friendships, hers is a story of grace remembered and loyalty sustained.
