ABUJA – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has conducted a sweeping nationwide operation, leading to the arrest of a Chinese businessman, Liang Tak You, an 80-year-old grandmother, Mrs. Grace Ekpeme, and numerous others. The arrests uncovered sophisticated drug concealment methods, including Colorado hidden in “moi-moi” sachets and Canadian Loud in imported canned food.

Liang Tak You, 60, was apprehended at Lagos’ MMIA on Friday, July 25, after arriving from Bangkok with 26.10kg of Loud. Mrs. Ekpeme was arrested in Calabar on Saturday, July 26, with over 3kg of skunk
.
Further operations across Lagos, Abuja-Kaduna highway, Borno, Ondo, Edo, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Gombe, and Kogi states yielded significant seizures.
These included various quantities of opioids, skunk, Colorado, Loud, Arizona, and methamphetamine, with some busts involving large cannabis plantations and intercepted drug consignments concealed in everyday items. The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking across Nigeria.
