Political leaders from the Ndokwa Ukwuani federal constituency have restated their confidence in the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, during a solidarity visit to his official residence in Asaba on Tuesday.

The delegation, led by Rear Admiral Ojinika Onah (Rtd), described Onyeme as a dependable and visionary leader whose commitment to the progress of Ndokwa nation and Delta State remains unquestionable.

They pledged their unwavering support to the Deputy Governor in the face of what they termed “unnecessary criticism” from certain sponsored individuals bent on tarnishing his reputation.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders, Rear Admiral Onah condemned the verbal attacks against Onyeme over power supply issues in Ndokwa land, insisting that the Deputy Governor had continued to represent the constituency with dignity and deserved encouragement rather than distractions.

The leaders also expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his inclusive governance style, while acknowledging former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for granting their long-standing demands, including the appointment of an Ndokwa indigene as Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and the establishment of a federal institution in the area.

They lauded both leaders for their contributions to the growth and stability of the state.

The visit also afforded the delegation the opportunity to commiserate with Sir Onyeme over the recent passing and burial of his foster father, Mr. Danladi Ambi, as they offered prayers and words of comfort to him and his family.

The meeting underscored the determination of Ndokwa/Ukwuani leaders to unite and rally behind the state’s leadership at a time when peace, inclusiveness, and collective support are crucial to sustaining Delta’s development.
