Nigeria Mourns Business Legend Aminu Dantata at 94

Abuja – Vice President Kashim Shettima has mourned the passing of renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing him as an “irreplaceable institution” and “a living bridge to Nigeria’s past.”

Dantata, 94, passed away on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates. In a statement from Abuja, Shettima noted that Nigeria had lost one of its greatest economic and cultural titans. “His death marks the end of a vital chapter in our national history,” he said.

Born into the famous Dantata family of Kano, Aminu Dantata expanded his father’s legacy into a multi-sector empire spanning construction, banking, oil and gas, manufacturing, and agriculture. He was also celebrated for his lifelong commitment to philanthropy, funding schools, mosques, health centres, and providing aid to the less privileged.

Shettima extended heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the deceased eternal peace in Aljannatul Firdaus.

Aminu Dantata’s legacy lives on through the businesses he built and the countless lives he impacted across Nigeria.
