The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has pledged to continue taking steps that will further create opportunities for young people in the Warri Kingdom. He urged young Nigerians to intentionally connect with their roots in order to bring development closer to their people.
The Olu made the pledge while speaking at the 2025 Lagos Leadership Summit on Wednesday , April 16 in Lagos.
The monarch, who spoke alongside other first-class traditional leaders, asserted that it is “cool” to go back to our roots, but acknowledged that there may be challenges that could act as discouraging factors.
He, however, urged young Nigerians to be inspired by traditional leaders in the country who have put themselves forward to serve, despite having the option to focus solely on themselves.
Ogiame Atuwatse III reiterated his commitment to creating enabling platforms for young people in the Warri Kingdom to thrive and make an impact at local, state, national, and international levels.
