Over 21,000 Applicants Battle for 3,000 Civil Service Jobs in Sokoto

More than 21,000 applicants on Saturday sat for an online examination in Sokoto State as part of the recruitment process for 3,000 available positions in the state civil service.

Chairman of the Recruitment Committee, Alhaji Jelani Kalgo, said over 30,000 applications were received, but only 21,178 candidates were shortlisted after initial screening. He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise after monitoring several examination centres across the state.

A visit to the Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko ICT Centre along Kalambaina Road showed large crowds of candidates waiting in batches to take the computer-based test.

However, some applicants complained over the 30-minute duration for the 30-question assessment, while others reported difficulty logging into the system due to technical glitches.

Responding to the concerns, Kalgo assured that a supplementary test would be organised for candidates who faced verified technical challenges.
