The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo.
Ewhrudjakpo reportedly collapsed earlier on Thursday and was confirmed dead shortly after, a development that has thrown the state and the party into mourning.
In a statement signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the National Working Committee led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, described the late deputy governor as a loyal and principled party man whose demise is an “inexplicable loss” and a source of “indescribable pain.”
According to the statement, Senator Ewhrudjakpo was known for his integrity, conviction, and consistency in politics, qualities the party said he upheld until his final moments.
The PDP described him as “a hero of political integrity” and prayed for the repose of his soul.
The party extended its condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa State, noting that the loss was both painful and irreparable.
