DELTA: The family of a 2-year-old boy, Emmanuel Chinonso Ukadike, is seeking financial support from well-meaning Nigerians after the child was diagnosed with a kidney infection at the Asaba Specialist Hospital (ASH), Delta State. In an emotional appeal, Mr. Lawrence Ukadike, the boy’s father, explained that they noticed unusual swelling on Emmanuel’s face and difficulty in urination a few weeks ago. Concerned, they took him for medical tests across several hospitals before the diagnosis was confirmed at ASH.According to him, Emmanuel, who is the male twin of a set, has been admitted to the hospital for nearly a week to commence treatment. However, the cost of treatment has become overwhelming for the family.“His face started swelling, and he was finding it difficult to urinate. We took him for several tests, and he was eventually diagnosed with a kidney infection. He has been receiving treatment at the Asaba Specialist Hospital, and we are doing all we can to save him. But the bills keep rising,” Mr. Ukadike said.Mr. Ukadike, a tricycle (Keke) rider from Nnando town in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, lamented the financial strain the treatment has placed on his family.“We have exhausted all we have. The doctors haven’t said anything about surgery yet, but the ongoing treatment alone is very expensive. We are appealing to kind-hearted Nigerians to help us save our son’s life,” he added. The family is requesting prayers and financial assistance from the public to ensure Emmanuel receives the necessary treatment. For those willing to help, the family can be reached at 07037932392 or 08136737557.Donations can be made to First Bank account number 3053285066, with the account name Lawrence Oforkansi. The Ukadike family is hopeful that their appeal will touch the hearts of Nigerians and help them save little Emmanuel’s life.
