The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, has charged the Ugbuwangue community in Warri South Local Government Area to protect and preserve the newly commissioned Renewed Hope Mother and Child Specialist Hospital.
Speaking at the commissioning, the monarch said wealth is meaningless without health, describing the facility as a cherished gift that will impact mothers, children, and the future of Warri.
“In appreciating this facility, we thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the role he has played to make today a reality,” the Olu said. “We also acknowledge the 20th Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli of blessed memory, who first initiated the process that brought this project here.”
The monarch commended the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, for ensuring that not only hospital facilities were provided but also accommodation for medical personnel to enable quick response to emergencies.
Ogiame Atuwatse III urged the host community to be good custodians of the hospital. “Ensure that everything here is well protected. The access roads must remain clear 24/7 because emergencies can arise at any time. Take responsibility for the effective use of this facility as your own,” he said.
The Olu further called on the Federal and State Governments to do more for the people, saying, “This is a federal project, and we expect more to come. We also commend His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, under whose tenure this has become a reality.”
The Warri monarch prayed for all stakeholders who contributed to the project and wished guests safe return journeys, adding, “May God bless you all and keep you in His wisdom.”
