Rivers Police Debunk Viral Robbery Report, Assure Public of Safety

PORT HARCOURT – The Rivers State Police Command has urged residents to disregard online reports claiming that a popular bank was robbed in Port Harcourt. The command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, issued a statement on Wednesday, labeling the report as false and designed to cause panic

“The command categorically states that no such incident occurred anywhere in Port Harcourt or across Rivers State,” Iringe-Koko declared. She advised the public to stop sharing unverified information and to rely only on official sources for updates.

The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting residents and visitors, adding that police operatives remain on constant patrols and are on high alert to respond to any security threats. She also warned that those found to be deliberately spreading falsehoods could face prosecution.
