Rotary Club Ubeji Empowers 54 Residents with Vocational Skills…

DELTA: The Rotary Club of Ubeji, District 9141, has trained 54 individuals, including 12 persons with disabilities, in various vocational skills to promote self-reliance and entrepreneurship in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Participants from Ubeji, Ifiekporo, Egbokodo-Itsekiri, and persons with disabilities (PWD) communities were taught skills such as hat-making, pastries, shoemaking, soap production, makeup, gele tying, and perfume making during the two-week training held at MJ Bertrand Skill Acquisition Centre, Ubeji.

While presenting certificates to the beneficiaries, the President of Rotary Club of Ubeji, Rotarian Emmanuel Etsano, highlighted the importance of the initiative in empowering participants to start legitimate businesses.

“Our vision is to equip participants with skills that will enable them to be independent and eventually become employers of labor,” Rotarian Etsano said.

The Vocational Chairperson, Rotarian Emiko Akpita, praised the beneficiaries for their dedication and cooperation.
