December 19th will always significant for the people of Oboghoro community as First class monarch,the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III,visited community for their annual Oboghoro cultural festival.
The visit showcased the rich cultural heritage of Warri Kingdom with traditional dance and songs even as community men women, dressed in eye catching native attires, performed a special dance routine to welcome the king,while dance groups Itsekiri extraction, Ijaw, urhobo and illeje competed in a cultural dance display, which was won the Itsekiri’ dance group.

The event attracted dignitaries, including government officials, political office holders, top religious leaders, captains of industries amongst others.
The Olu during the event also commissioned Twenty units of Two-bedroom apartments built by Warri North Local government,lead by the Chairman, Honourable Festus Achima.
The project is expected to provide affordable housing for members of the community.
He also unveiled a statue in memory of Prince Ijala Akengboye ,the founding father of Ijala descendants and Oboghoro town.
The Olu who addressed the gathering in the Itsekiri language, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage and and promoting community development.
