Cmr. Perekeme Seleyeibo has pledged to promote unity, inclusiveness and internal democracy following his emergence as chairman of the Bomadi Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
In his acceptance speech after being unveiled as consensus chairman, Seleyeibo thanked party leaders and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, describing his emergence as a call to greater service. He assured members that he would carry everyone along through broad consultations and fair leadership.
He also expressed commitment to mobilising grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in future political activities in the council area.
Seleyeibo’s emergence followed a stakeholders’ meeting held at Wetlands Hotel, Ughelli, where party leaders unanimously endorsed him ahead of the party’s scheduled local government congress.
The meeting had in attendance the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Kelly Penawou; Member representing Bomadi in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Kenneth Preyor; Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Dr. Barry Gbe; Chairman of Delta State Arts Council, Hon. Pius Labo, and other party leaders.
Presenting Seleyeibo as the consensus choice, Andaye urged party members to remain united and committed to strengthening the APC in Bomadi. He emphasised that party development is a collective responsibility and commended the zoning committee for ensuring fairness and equitable representation across the ten wards in the council area.
