ABUJA – Activist Omoyele Sowore on Monday led a protest to the Force Headquarters and subsequently the National Assembly, advocating for improved welfare and pension conditions for Nigerian police personnel.

Chanting slogans such as “Pay police a living wage and proper pensions,” the protesting group brandished placards outlining their demands for both serving and retired police officers. Some placards read: “Decent Salaries Now,” “End Police Slavery,” “Pensions for Police Officers,” and “Dignity for Those in Uniform.”

While the group was not permitted entry into the Force Headquarters, they were notably provided with police escorts as they proceeded to the National Assembly to press their demands.
