Tinubu Promises Grand Welcome, Super Falcons Secure Record 10th WAFCON Title.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria made history on Saturday, clinching a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title with a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over host Morocco in the final.

Nigeria fought back from a two-goal deficit, with Esther Okoronkwo scoring from the penalty spot in the 64th minute, assisting Folasade Ijamilusi for the equalizer in the 71st, and Jennifer Echegini completing the dramatic win in the 88th minute.

Following their triumph, President Bola Tinubu congratulated the team via video call, expressing national pride and promising a grand celebration upon their return. He lauded their resilience, highlighting the historic achievement for Nigeria and the continent. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade thanked the President for approving their bonuses and confirmed the team would present the trophy in Abuja.
