A heated altercation between popular social media critics Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, or Mr Jollof, has escalated dramatically, with VDM confirming the two exchanged blows during a commercial flight trip.
The physical confrontation, captured in a viral video by a fellow passenger and rapidly shared across social media platforms, marks a new, serious chapter in the long-running public feud between the two figures.

The conflict initially arose after VDM publicly criticized Mr Jollof’s qualifications for a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) position within the Delta State government. VDM argued that Mr Jollof’s public promotion of betting and alleged smoking made him unsuitable for a role meant to inspire youth.
The feud took a personal and legal turn in October 2024 when Mr Jollof’s wife, Esinjemiyotan Atsepoyi, filed a N500 million defamation lawsuit against Verydarkman. This came after VDM used his platform to accuse Mr Jollof’s wife of infidelity with “Yahoo boys” and “several politicians,” even suggesting Mr Jollof conduct a DNA test on one of their children.
What began as political criticism and professional rivalry devolved into a bitter exchange of personal attacks and insults about their families and private lives, ultimately culminating in the physical fight recorded aboard the flight.
The viral footage has generated intense reaction online, underscoring the severity of the dispute between the two influential social media figures.
