The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has thanked God for the blossoming of true peace and unity in Warri Kingdom
The Monarch who spoke during the 2025 Itsekiri Annual Thanksgiving Day at his palace in Warri ,explained that through the some adversity, the people have become more united to the cause of the Kingdom.
He said “We are here to give Thanksgiving to The one who saw where we got it wrong, and where we were wasteful & negligent, yet inspite of it all, He’s bringing us much restoration.
And so we thank Him for Darkness that He has allowed us to be in, for out of this darkness, a great light has come. A great light of which that previous darkness will not be able to comprehend
And as tough as this one is, We thank Him for the Pride & wickedness; because out of this, humility & honor has come.
We thank Him for Division & confusion that we have endured, for out of that, true peace, true unity and true progress has come”.

2025 Warri Kingdom Thanksgiving
I came with the usual reasons of Thanksgiving and gratitude in my heart, but the Lord asked me to look beyond “the usual”.
The Lord asked me to thank Him for the things that present themselves as burdens and frustrations that I feel. And He led me to Exodus 23:29.
And I must clarify, this isn’t just about physical land, but “His promises” towards us.
Because when things don’t seem to go in our mind or imagination; the way God said, the situation or circumstances may want to make it look like God is a liar.
And this informed a perspective change.
And so, I have come to give thanks to Almighty God.
To God of times and seasons.
Who from the foundation of the world determined our path and our trajectory.
And also determined our boundaries & our inheritance.
We are here to give Thanksgiving to The one who saw where we got it wrong, and where we were wasteful & negligent, yet inspite of it all, He’s bringing us much restoration.
And so we thank Him for Darkness that He has allowed us to be in, for out of this darkness, a great light has come. A great light of which that previous darkness will not be able to comprehend

We thank Him for the mystery & the wonder that is Itsekiri. As He has reigned and rule from the foundation of the world, may He continue to reign in the affairs of Itsekiri & Warri kingdom. Making ALL things, the good, the bad, the ugly, work for our good, and for His glory.
