Local Government Chairmen from Warri Federal Constituency have called on youths to shun violence and uphold peace in their communities.
The call came after a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held Tuesday, May 20, at the Governor’s Annex in Warri, Delta State. In attendance were Chairmen Weyinmi Agbateyiniro (Warri South), Festus Ashima (Warri North), Sylvester Oromoni (Warri South West), and Ovoke Warri (Isoko South), alongside representatives of the Itsekiri, Urhobo, and Ijaw ethnic groups.
Warri South Chairman Agbateyiniro stressed the need to maintain law and order, warning that the government will not tolerate any disruption. His Warri North counterpart, Ashima, added: “Peace at all cost is cheaper than war. We must intentionally promote peace.”

Warri Area Commander, ACP Graham Imade, also addressed the gathering, urging all parties to remain law-abiding. He assured the public that security agencies remain on alert.
Ethnic representatives welcomed the message and promised to take the peace campaign back to their communities.
