Wema Bank celebrated Children’s Day 2025 by appointing 12-year-old Chiderije Mbah as its One-Day Managing Director/CEO, spotlighting its commitment to youth empowerment and financial education. Chiderije earned the role after winning a national video challenge where he shared his dream of making banking fun and accessible for kids.
Welcomed with a purple carpet at the Lagos headquarters, he engaged in leadership activities and executive sessions.
The initiative, part of Wema’s 80th anniversary celebrations, introduced thousands of children to early financial literacy through the bank’s Royal Kiddies and ALAT Xplore accounts.
