Abuja, FCT – Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, a figure accustomed to political storms, has thrown down the gauntlet to his detractors within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a fiery media parley on Monday, Wike scoffed at calls for his expulsion, daring any party member to challenge his deep-rooted influence.
With an air of defiant confidence, Wike asserted his unyielding position: “I am still in PDP. I worked hard for the party.” He then escalated his challenge, his words laced with a potent mix of disdain and self-assurance: “I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, Wike, you are not a member of the party. Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?”
Wike’s provocative remarks come amidst swirling whispers of internal party strife and attempts by certain factions to isolate him. His steadfast refusal to be cowed suggests a brewing internal battle, with the minister seemingly ready to confront any challenge to his standing head-on. The question now hangs in the air: will Wike’s audacious challenge be met, or will his perceived indispensability within the PDP remain untarnished?
